Hey Grup,
I know of one vert skater in Australia. His name is Paul (Rollerball) Jessep.
Stay in touch and send us pics of your set-up once you get it together.
Our line of Aggressive Quad Skates.

Hi there,
My girlfriend and I are living in the West coast ... of France. Maybe you have already heard that we have good skaters and that skating events like "Pari-Roller" (a skating tour around Paris each Friday) are regularly scheduled. I don't know how it is in North America (or anywhere else in the world), but, here, most of the roller-activity is centered around the major cities -- like Paris, Toulouse, Lyon, ... After all, skating is an Urban sport!
So, living in the countryside, and having both heard during childhood and teenage that those "things" and "dangerous" and for "not very recommendable persons" (did you heard that too?), it sounds a little bit crazy that we develop both an interested in that sport by reaching our 30s!
Anyway, I'm an inline skater since about 18 month now. And I would like Sonia joined me. However she's much more interested in quad skating. As you guess, to find a decent pair or quads was not an easy thing around here! Fortunately, there was Internet. And, that was while searching on the Web for quads that I found the RollerGirl forum (and shop!-). Lots of infos, a good choice, a very good customers support ... so, with a little help of Fed'Ex, Sonia should be able to try her quads for Christmas
Of course, I must admit it is not our goal for now to become "real" aggressive skaters, sliding all around and doing amazing tricks on vert ramps (anyway, there's no ramp here;-). But who knows? Maybe that could change: skating is so much fun that each time you go out, you'd like to try a new thing! But at this time, to be honest, skating is mostly -- pardon these words -- a fitness/recreational activity, performing here an there some easy "ground" tricks (so we are not totally "off topic", I hope). Maybe that's what's called "freeskating", but I'm not sure of that!
Best regards, |

Hi All
My 1st post here.
Buds and I started roller skating [8 wheels not in a line] in Seylynn [N. Van] immediately after it was built....maybe 1978??? Yes, we were the 1st and a lot of you folks were probably not even born yet....lol.
We had been road skating 29th St. hill in N.Van [in the dark of course ] for quite a while when someone told us Seylynn was ready. No room for errors on 29th either. If you had loose trucks the speed vibrations would only allow you to touchdown every 50 feet or so....what a rush! One night my bud Mike rounded the corner at the Lonsdale traffic light, hit a patch of oil and landed on his butt. Even after slowing to 60 clicks that still might hurt! When popped back to his feet he had half a pocket and wallet left...the blacktop had eaten the rest butt he was OK.
I'm 55+ now [ouch!] and looking back, some of the best times I can recall were summer nights [brought our own diesel generator and lights] at the Seylynn bowl. There was absolutely nothing like the rush and feel of the G's doing a straight run from the riverside blacktop walkway, dropping fast and smooth into the main bowl and cranking a flip up and out the other end.
The biggest rush I get now is maybe openning the mail?....lol. Try not to bust/shock/abuse too many joints...you'll feel every one of them each morning when you get older. Enjoy it while you can.

| I have been skating the streets in Austin for about 3 years. I skated at the rink when I was younger and now I tear it up outside on the streets/sidewalks/parking lots. About to put some time and $$$ into building myself some more aggressive skates with protective boots and plates. |
