Walid Nouh's Biography
"My name is Walid. I'm 25. I live in Paris, France.
I skate since 1987, with quads.
I began with downhill next to my home and quickly move to slalom (with cones). I loved the sensation of speed. This kind of skating required precision and a great control of your skates.
Then I met Luc, a good friend of mine, who's one of the best quader I ever saw. He showed me how to slide and grind, and the basis of jumps. After that I practice agressive inlineskate (street especially) and was sponsored by Oxygen in France.
At the same time, I won twice the second place at the french slalom championship.
Now I only skate for my pleasure and I really enjoy it ! I skate with my friend and, one year ago, I opened the RollerFR project.
I found that the french websites about skating on the internet were really bad : they only talk about few things (almost only street and half-pipe and never with quads!). So I decieded to build my own website. After one year of work (almost 3 hours per day!) I put up to 200 articles and 120 videos on RollerFR.
Now I work with two friends of mine : KaLoU, a photographer and Ben for the articles and videos. In november, I lauched RollerFR.com which is the translation of RollerFR.net (the french original website) in english.
I'm really proud of the result, even if I need to improve the english translations...
The skates I use ?
I skate with both quads and inline. I own 2 inline pairs : Roces Graal for half-pipe and and custom made skate with a Rossignol Descender boot and a Mission Frame for freeride (really a great pair).
I have 4 pairs of quads :
A Roces CDG pair with Lazer frame (an excellent french frame). I use them quiet often (in fact almost all the time :) ) They are precise and really confortable.
I have another great pair with antoher CDG boot and a Fiberlite Backslide frame (big trucks, a slide on the middle of the frame) for Half-pipe. I use them when the ground is wet and when I want to skate in skateparks.
I have a new pair with sneekers : Nike Air Zoom (Gary Payton) with Dikers frames. This one is great for jumps.
I have several other pairs that I do not use (like k2 quads, Oxygen Argon and so on) and I lend them to my friends."
