Bonsor is a first-rate concrete park located in Burnaby near Metrotown. It has something for everyone: a bowl with a full-pipe and granite coping, a street plaza and a soft old-school bowl.
East Van's China Creek is known as Canada's oldest skatepark. It features a round coping-less bowl called the Tea-Cup, a smooth old-school bowl called the Bath Tub and a few rails.
Town Center is a sprawling concrete park located in Coquitlam's Town Center Park. It offers a variety of street and bowl features including a double half-pipe with a spine. It is overall well designed but lacks a bit of flow.
Griffin is located in North Van and is another sweet old-school favorite. It consists of a well-designed downhill snake run that leads into a round bowl. It's a favorite of the older skate crowd with its smooth, fast, carving lines.
Hastings Bowl is one of the best parks in BC, possibly in Canada. As its name indicates, it consists of one very large bowl featuring four levels and a small street-ish area. It is very well designed and is a favorite of many local skaters.
Park Gate is a nice concrete park located in North-Vancouver. It features a multi level bowl (4 to 6 feet) and a couple of rails. The surrounding buildings and woody areas provide shade in the summer.
This Funky concrete street park in Richmond is bordered by an assortment of trannies and banks. It includes a variety of fun boxes, pyramids, small stairs, rails and two funny little half-moon bowl ends.
Strathcona is a small street park located in East Van. It includes a couple of boxes and rails but not much else...no banks, no trannies, no flow. It works fine as a "neighborhood park" but not really worth the detour.
The plaza is a great street park located under the SkyTrain between Main and Stadium stations. It includes stairs, banks, rails and boxes. The overpass above provides shade and cover from rain but also less-than-clean air.
Friction was a sweet little indoor skatepark in Port Coquitlam. It featured 2 mini ramps, some boxes and rails and a big street area with launch ramps and a big pyramid with various rails in the middle. RIP Friction.
Fantastic indoor skatepark located in Richmond. It featured a world class 13 foot vert ramp, 2 bowls connected at the spine, a mini-mini and a large street area with banks, ledges, trannies, rails, boxes, wall rides and all the good stuff. RIP RDS.
Van Shredder's Shred Shed (AKA The Cract Pipe) was the longest indoor mini-ramp in North-America (possibly in the world ?). It was located in Gastown and was a great place to skate, rain or shine. RIP The Shred Shed.
A private skatepark located in a warehouse in Burnaby. It featured 3 mini-ramps, a large street area with launch pads, pyramid, fun boxes and rails and whatever else was brought in as obstacles. RIP The Projekt.
