Friction was a sweet little indoor skatepark in Port Coquitlam. It featured 2 mini ramps, some boxes and rails and a big street area with launch ramps and a big pyramid with various rails in the middle. RIP Friction.
Friction closed in 2003
The relaxed atmosphere, courteous staff, wooden half-pipes and pyramids made this park a great place to skate.
There was something for everyone. From the beginner to the pro, this park was made for multi skill levels.
There were two street sections. One with low rails, small ramps, small pyramid. The second had 8-10' launch ramps, a large pyramid and high rails. There also were two mini ramps at about 3' and 5'. Adult admittance was $8, an extra two for helmet rentals.
RIP Friction.

The street section was pretty big, with big launch ramps and big rails.
The Friction graph on the outside wall was pretty slick.
The biggest of the two mini-ramp had a little transfer and a little extension.
