Van Shredder's Shred Shed (AKA The Cract Pipe) was the longest indoor mini-ramp in North-America (possibly in the world ?). It was located in Gastown and was a great place to skate, rain or shine. RIP The Shred Shed.
The Shred Shed closed in 2004
The Shred Shed was a sweet little ramp. By the time of it's death it had grown to occupy most of the room and was about 84 feet long. It was perfectly designed with various extensions, a kink and a wall ride. It also had an excellent flow as you could skate up and down the entire length of the pipe grinding the smooth coping along the way.
The place has been the subject of it's share of controversies over the years as it was run by locals and not legally located according to city zoning. But dedicated members of the Vancouver skateboard community gave it all they had and made it a great place to skate until the day it closed.
RIP The Shred Shed.
