Transcript:

Hi, this is Lisa from RollerGirl.ca and I'm here today to show you lock-lacing, a simple lacing technique to prevent heel-lift in your skates.

To do lock-lacing you lace your skates as normal, all the way up to the second from last lace, as you see here.
Then, instead of lacing across, you're going to lace up forming a loop on the side of your skates.
You do the same thing on the other side.
Now you lace across and through the loop you just created, and the same thing on the other side.
And this creates the lock for lock-lacing.

Now when you're going to put on your roller skates, you put your foot into your skates, tap your heel into the back of the skates and push down with your heel while tightening the laces all the way up.
This is very important for keeping your heel locked into the back.
Once you get to the top of the skate where your lock-lacing is, pull down to secure the lock and now pull up and tie off as usual.

And this is lock lacing! it will change your life.
