Muddy River Rollers was founded by league President, Carole Maillet (aka Burn'N Rub'Her) in 2010, with a group of equally dedicated members. Many of those skaters still make up the League of over 60 women. They manage the Board, run events, support their community, and populate the rosters for bouts both home and away.

It has become MRR's mission to provide an outlet that inspires a healthy, competitive spirit, build self-confidence, and blow off daily stress! MRR prides itself on providing a safe, yet thrilling avenue for women of all shapes, sizes, ages, and athletic ability to unite through alternative sport. Their goal is to broaden Moncton's horizons by bringing positive attention to the exciting sport of Roller Derby. They believe in a 'for the skaters, by the skaters' mentality. MRR strive to bring positive exposure to the city of Moncton, as well as help bring awareness to some of the city's top causes.

The Muddy River Rollers are an all-female Flat Track Roller Derby league based out of Moncton, New Brunswick, drawing in skaters from all areas, including Dieppe, Riverview, and as far reaching as Memramcook and Amherst. The league is run by busy moms, students, professionals and all-round devoted ladies. The league is proud to be a self-taught, self-run, non-profit organization, and has worked hard to become a Women's Flat Track Derby Association Apprentice League. All forms of participation are encouraged in MRR, including non-skaters in the form of officials. Men can also participate through coaching, refereeing or managing events and fundraisers.
