The Sunshine Coast Roller Girls is an all-female flat track roller derby league. As a quad-skate league the SCRG adhere to the rules and guidelines set forth by the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).
In March of 2010, a handful of local Sunshine Coast Women were getting together on a regular basis to learn and train for the sport of Roller Derby. They skated where ever they could find a flat space--school parking lots, playgrounds and basketball courts and in the streets and roads of their neighborhoods.
Now, the SCRG has a league of over 30 members strong. We've come along way in a short time. We hosted the the very first sanctioned bout on the Sunshine Coast in September of 2011. The Sechelt arena was packed to capacity with a sold out audience. The popularity of women's flat track roller derby has hit the sunshine coast hard and we are ready to rock and roll into our second season.
